By replacing the old moulding machines, the company increases the output while reducing CO2 emissions

This client is a large plastic moulding company located in Łowicz, Poland, with over 25 years of experience in the sector.

Due to the increasing demand from major customers (including Ikea), the company decided to increase the production capacity, at the same time becoming more energy efficient.

The company planned to replace five moulding machines and addressed PolSEFF for affordable financing.

The PolSEFF team performed an analysis of the proposed technology, its potential of energy savings, financial-technical parameters and the profitability of the project.

The €972,000 investment allowed the company to reduce its energy consumption by 1,670 MWh per year, resulting in substantial cost savings. The investment will be repaid from energy savings and increased income in two years. In addition, the company decreased its CO2 emissions by 1,590 tonnes per year, which is a valuable input towards mitigating the negative effect of human activity on the climate.

Thanks to this investment, the company will be able to meet the increased demand while still delivering high quality products at competitive prices.

The EBRD, through PolSEFF, supports the sustainable financing and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects by the private sector. Together, the private, residential and public sectors can make a change to energy consumption patterns and contribute to environmental protection.
