Replacement of the old production line leads to energy and cost savings

The client is an SME producer of roof tiles and steel sheets for the local market. The company was established in 2002, in view of demand for light roofing material alternative to asbestos. Despite the tight competition, the company has won its share of the market thanks to high quality products at reasonable prices.

To reduce its energy consumption and improve the product quality, the company decided to modernise its machinery.

The company addressed PolSEFF2 for affordable financing to replace the old metal shaping production line with a lower power demand and higher production capacity system.

The PolSEFF2 team performed the analysis of the proposed technology, its potential for energy savings, financial-technical parameters and profitability of the project.

The investment of PLN 400,000 allowed the company to increase its production capacity, while decreasing its overall energy consumption by 43 per cent. The investment will be repaid from energy savings and increased sales in just two years. This way, the company can continue offering high quality products at low prices without sacrificing own profits.

This project demonstrates that investments in energy efficiency are possible in all sectors and all sizes of companies. These investments bring multiple benefits, such as increased production capacity, better quality, less operation time – all leading to improved company competitiveness and financial standing.

This project was supported by the Polish National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOS).
