Keeping Tajik homes warm during winter

LLC Boboi Talbak, is a local producer of PVC windows and doors in Southern Tajikistan who decided to expand his production of energy efficient equipment.

In recent years, the demand for energy efficient plastic windows and doors has been rapidly growing in major cities and districts of Tajikistan. The use of these products helps to keep Tajik homes warm and comfortable, especially during cold winters. Climadapt’s client, recognising the market potential  decided to expand his production of energy efficient plastic windows.

Climadapt team assisted the company with verification of the technology, its technical and economic parameters and calculated the potential profitability.

LLC Boboi Talbak obtained a loan of USD 62,700 from one of Climadapt’s partner banks, which went towards purchasing raw materials imported from Turkey. This produced 2,250 square meters of energy efficient PVC windows for two of LLC Boboi Talbak’s brands, “Solar” and “Winturk”.

The annual cost savings of the company’s final product amount to USD 4,190.

The new PVC windows have a big potential for increasing the thermal insulation and energy efficiency of residential buildings. The annual energy savings are around 238,000 kWh. It is approximated that the annual emissions avoided amount to 18 tons of CO2 per year.

The Tajikistan Climate Resilience Financing Facility, CLIMADAPT is developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and supported by the Climate Investment Funds’ Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (CIF PPCR), the United Kingdom and the EBRD Early Transition Countries (ETC) Fund.
