Clean energy production from rooftop solar power plant, in Kahramanmaraş

TurSEFF loan is helping clean energy production from a 5.4 MWp rooftop solar power plant (RSPV) in 2022.

Ar-al Tekstil, a company who has reached a production capacity of 60 tons of yarn and 20 tons of fabric per day, with additional knitted fabric and yarn investments, has installed a rooftop solar power plant (RSPV) on its facility in Kahramanmaraş.

TurSEFF consultant advised company about the innovative ways of reducing its energy costs. The RSPV investment will provide the electricity need of the building from a green energy source and the surplus electricity will be fed to the grid.

Company financed the investment by TurSEFF loan blended with technical assistance. During the project implementation TurSEFF consultant performed the project analysis, assessed the potential of energy savings, financial-technical parameters, and risks of the investment.

The company used € 1,378,325 TurSEFF loan from a partner financial institution. As a result of the investment, the RSPV will provide 6,532 MWh energy saving. This green energy investment will contribute mitigation of climate change’s negative impacts. In the project, a performance commitment was given to the Company by the EPC. Thus, the Company is protected against technical risks. It also increases the project quality as EPC takes financial risk.

The plant helps reduction of the CO2 emissions up to 2,352 tonnes per year.

The Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to provide financing for Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Energy investments. European Union (EU) and Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance are supporting TurSEFF by providing finance to Technical Assistance.
