GEFF presentation at Energy Expo & Forum 2018 in Tirana
Expocity Albania organized the second edition of “Energy Expo & Forum 2018” , which was focused on the great potentials of the region for Investments in Electricity.
Albania has great potential for investment in this area and is also strengthened by current electricity market policies. Also, the new Law on Renewable Energy, passed last year with the regulated legal framework, will create more market for investment and cooperation.
Energy Expo & Forum had numerous of exhibitors from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, Greece, Croatia and Serbia. Besides exhibiting section, the forum had a very important forum section where participants received information on the entire spectrum of the energy sector, opportunities and potentials, the tendering process and difficulties, with particular focus on the renewable energy sector and the energy future in Albania and the region.
EBRD representative, Dorina Peristeri, speaker at the Energy Expo & Forum, presented the policies and strategies of the EBRD for sustainable development of renewable energy sources in Balkans. Dorina emphasized the Green Economy Financing Facility – GEFF as one important project for the Albanian market in the upcoming period. Peristeri invited both financial institutions as well as companies producing and distributing energy efficient technologies to become part of the project.
After the Forum, the representative of EBRD GEFF had meetings with nearly all the expositors companies and informed them in details about requirements how to become part of Technology Selector.
The EBRD Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Western Balkans provides finance for green economy investments in the residential sector as well as to businesses who provide energy efficiency and renewable energy products and services to households.
GEFF in the Western Balkans is implemented under the Regional Energy Efficiency Programme for the Western Balkans (REEP Plus), funded by the European Union and realised in cooperation with the Energy Community Secretariat. The Technical Cooperation programme under the Facility is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance and the Western Balkan Investment Framework.
