On 30 September 2021, the EBRD’s Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) will hold an online event entitled “An Inclusive Green Economy for Armenia: Strengthening Women and Men-led MSMEs for a Sustainable Future”. In addition to the EBRD and GEFF, key representatives from the financial and business sectors in Armenia will discuss ways to strengthen the position of women homeowners as well as MSMEs led by women (and men) with the aim of securing a sustainable future for Armenia.
The main purpose of the event is to deepen the understanding of the climate change-related challenges faced by individuals and female (and male) business leaders, the climate adaptation measures available to MSMEs, and the opportunities to climate finance in the country.
In its efforts to contribute to an overall inclusive economy and to empower MSMEs to seek greener and more inclusive development paths, the EBRD’s GEFF has conducted a multi-faceted study on gender, climate change, and green finance in Armenia. The event will present the key findings and recommendations of the research conducted, including the awareness of climate risks and adaptation strategies, how businesses run by females and males access to finance, and how women access green finance.
The online event will take place on 30 September 2021 at 11:30 a.m. and will be held in Armenian and English languages with simultaneous translation. To see the full agenda, please follow the link.
The event is now open for registration here. Everyone is welcome to attend.
