Windows and doors producer installs efficient glass edger and saves US$ 25,000 per year on electricity consumption

Profal LLC is one of the leading companies in Armenia, manufacturing various glass and metal constructions, interior and facade solutions, furniture, automatic gates, protection blinds, mineral fibre hanging ceilings, flooring, roofing and other products. It is a large importer and is the official representative of almost fifty European companies and brands.

To maintain its high standards, the company decided to replace its obsolete production line with a new energy efficient unit and approached GEFF for financing. The GEFF project team analysed the investment, assessed the energy savings potential and defined the technical-financial parameters of the project to ensure that the company achieved the best results.

The project included replacing the old window process line (including grinding, edging and washing equipment) with a mobile edger from an Italian supplier.

The US$ 151,000 investment has already generated US$ 25,000 in cost savings for Profal in the first year of operation. The cost savings were thanks to a huge 96% reduction in annual electricity consumption. The investment will repay itself out of energy savings in six years, turning future cash-flows into company income for many years to come.

This investment has allowed Profal to significantly reduce production costs and continue focusing on the quality and diversity of its products in order to satisfy the most demanding clients.

This project was supported by the European Union and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance.
