The Maslic family from Samac wanted to improve the heating of the house and create more comfortable living conditions by introducing energy efficient technologies in their home.

They fulfilled their expectations by investing in thermal insulation, biomass stove and PVC windows and doors through the GEFF programme for the Western Balkans.

The house where the family lives was built in 2002 with a plastered facade and wooden windows and doors. The family was heating on coal.

After investing in green technologies worth a total of EUR 5,100, the family from the BiH city was entitled to an EU incentive of EUR 1,000, which was paid following the completion of the works.

Today, the Maslic family saves 3,6 MWh per year, and keeps the house warm while maintaining it cheaper and more rational. They replaced the previous consumption of about 7 tonnes of coal with the consumption of about 3 tonnes of pellets per year, without any additional costs.

The GEFF programme for the Western Balkans is supported by the European Union (EU), the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria and the Western Balkans Investment Framework in cooperation with the Energy Community Secretariat (ECS).
