New energy-efficient windows help to take care of children and develop the business

A resident of the village Aktobe, Zhambyl region, is a caring mother of three young children. She lives with her family in a large private house. Together with her husband, she decided to establish a private kindergarten in their home. For the comfortable stay of children in the house, the indoor temperature should be at the level of +21+24C⁰. Because of the old windows, the temperature was lower, especially during the cold season. It was decided to replace the old windows with new energy-efficient ones. Since the house was very large and the entire amount for the replacement of windows was not available, the owners applied for a loan to the Microfinance organization (MFO) “KMF”. The loan expert spoke about the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) programme from the EBRD. Under the terms of this Programme, when choosing eligible windows from the Green Technologies Selector for the credit funds of the financial partner, it is possible to receive an incentive in the amount of 10% of the total purchase price, including costs of delivery and installation. This offer was very interesting for start-up entrepreneurs. With credit funds, they purchased and installed new energy-efficient windows. Modernization of the house contributed to attracting more children to kindergarten and successful business development.

“Now it is more comfortable in the house. Not only we have noticed this, but also the children’s parents. We have started to air the premises more often, which has not affected the average room temperature. It is warm in the house because of new energy-efficient windows. We are very pleased with the purchase we were able to make with the support of the MFO “KMF” loan as well as the compensation under the GEFF Programme. We recommend everyone to use it!” said the woman.

All applications for incentives are verified for the intended use of funds. At the time of verification, the loan must not be repaid. The incentive is paid promptly, until the end of the following calendar month from the date of verification. The incentive is paid to a separate account. It is possible to withdraw the incentive before the loan repayment.

This project was supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance.
