Russian car repair service becomes energy efficient

The client is an SME car repair company located in Saint-Petersburgh, which provides highly demanded and top quality services.

To stay competitive in a saturated market, the company decided to invest in modernisation and reduction of production costs. The company contacted RuSEFF for an advisory package and financing of the project. The RuSEFF team supported the company with a free-of-charge energy assessment of the company and its production facilities, defining the potential energy saving measures and their profitability.

The suggested project comprised replacement of outdated, worn out and energy intensive air compressors and gas burners.

The €20,000 investment allows the company to decrease its energy consumption by 140 MWh per year, leading to annual cost savings of €5,000. This means the investment will be repaid from energy savings in just five years. The company will feel the benefits of these measures immediately in reduced energy bills and improved operations. In addition, the company reduced its CO2 emissions by 25 tonnes per year, making a small but important contribution to the mitigation of the negative effects of human activity on the climate.

This project demonstrates that energy efficiency investments are possible and profitable even in small service enterprises. Therefore, it is worth checking the energy saving potential of possible investment measures to choose the most profitable and attractive investment.
