The EBRD recognizes gender equality as a key driver for sustainable transition and inclusive growth across its regions and believes that equality of economic opportunity for women and men is a key element of a modern, well-functioning market economy and essential for sustainable growth.
As part of EBRD’s gender mainstreaming activities, a Gender Baseline Assessment report in Jordan is currently being developed with the following main objectives:

Assess awareness of women in business on climate change and green technologies
Assess challenges facing women-led SMEs in accessing green finance in particular.
Provide recommendations on how to increase women’s access to green finance.
We are committed to mainstream gender equality measures to support women economic empowerment through:
Access to finance – Financial and technical support to women-led businesses
Access to knowledge – Outreach and capacitate women-led businesses with the available services and solutions.
