The new electric buses contribute to the development of greener public transport in Almaty, improve passenger comfort and reduce environmental impact

DumanTrans LLP provides passenger transport services on urban routes and is one of the city’s largest public transport operators. The company contributes to the reliable operation of public transport and has been serving the residents of Almaty for more than seven years.

In recent years, demand for high-quality and safe passenger transport services in the city has continued to grow. At the same time, the existing number of buses is no longer sufficient to meet increasing passenger traffic.

To expand its existing fleet, the company decided to purchase 10 new Yutong electric buses manufactured in Kazakhstan for operation on urban routes.

The models procured by DumanTrans LLP met the baseline eligibility criteria of the EBRD’s Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) programme and were included in the pre-approved equipment and technology catalogue – the Green Technology Selector.

The project was implemented with financing provided by BCC Leasing LLP, a subsidiary of Bank CenterCredit JSC, under the GEFF programme.

The expansion of the fleet with modern and environmentally friendly electric buses is aimed at supporting the development of the region’s infrastructure.

The acquisition of modern electric buses will help improve the quality of passenger services, enhance transport safety and reduce air pollution levels.
