The construction of the largest sports swimming pool in Kyrgyzstan is nearing completion in the city of Osh. This unique facility is being built on the premises of the children and youth sports school “Dolphin as part of the new sports complex “Bulak”, with the support of the Green Economy Financing Facility – KyrSEFF.

The centerpiece of the complex is a full-size Olympic swimming pool, 50 meters long, 20 meters wide, and over 2 meters deep. It will feature 8 swimming lanes, providing all the necessary conditions to host high-level competitions.

Special attention was given to energy efficiency throughout the project. Thanks to KyrSEFF’s support, the building incorporates advanced green technologies, including:

  • Insulation using PIR sandwich panels with high thermal performance and fire safety;
  • Installation of triple-glazed energy-efficient windows;
  • Implementation of overflow filtration systems and UV water purification;
  • Polyurethane foam insulation for the ceilings;
  • A modern VRF air conditioning system for clean indoor air year-round;
  • Full LED lighting and a ventilation system throughout the facility.

KyrSEFF is implemented in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support the development of a green economy in Kyrgyzstan.

“From the very beginning, our goal was not just to construct a building, but to create a modern, warm, eco-friendly, and comfortable sports facility. We wanted the pool to meet international standards so that it could host high-level competitions and we believe we’ve achieved that,” – said Eldar Torobaev, General Director of Dem Al LLC.

With a total area of over 4,000 m², the sports complex includes separate zones for men and women, modern changing rooms, a steam room, Turkish hammam, prayer room, and full accessibility for people with disabilities.

It also features a gym equipped with multiple workout zones for various sports activities.
For families, the complex offers baby changing areas and childcare rooms with nannies, making it convenient and welcoming for visitors of all ages.

Thanks to the implemented technologies, the complex achieves significant environmental and economic benefits:

Energy savings: 784.61 MWh/year
Equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 120 households or over 70 million smartphone charges.

Water savings: 3,000 m³/year
Equal to the annual water usage of 20 people or half an Olympic-size pool.

CO₂ emissions reduction: 114.48 tons/year
Comparable to taking 25 cars off the road for a year, or planting around 5,000 trees.

The project is being implemented by Dem Al LLC under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. It serves as a strong example of how investments in sports infrastructure, healthy living, and green technologies can go hand in hand.

“We are grateful to the KyrSEFF program for its support, which enabled us to implement this project at an entirely new level. We encourage other entrepreneurs to follow the path of the green economy. Visit our complex and take care of your health and the environment together with us,” – KyrSEFF added Eldar Torobaev.

The KyrSEFF helps individuals and businesses in Kyrgyzstan implement energy-efficient and renewable technologies, reducing both energy costs and carbon footprint.
The program is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
