Due to a KyrSEFF loan, Binteq Group implemented green technologies and reduced its carbon footprint.
Today, we shine a spotlight on Binteq Group, a company that has been specializing in the sale of wastewater treatment systems in Kyrgyzstan since 2010. These local treatment systems (LTS) are designed to clean wastewater in areas without access to centralized sewage systems.
The company’s founder, Tuuganbek Mederbekov, has dedicated his life to protecting the environment and providing people with access to clean water.
Initially, the company’s office was located in Bishkek, while its production facility was based in the village of Novo-Pokrovka — a setup that posed logistical challenges for employees. As a result, the decision was made to build a new office and production site on a single premises, greatly improving logistics and optimizing operations.
According to Myrza Mederbekov, CEO of Binteq Group, the company took a major step toward the green economy in 2024 by applying for concessional financing through the KyrSEFF/GEFF program to build an energy-efficient facility that meets all modern standards. As part of the program, several green technologies were implemented, including a 15 kW solar power station, energy-efficient windows, and thermal insulation of the building.
Results:
Energy savings: 25.5 MWh/year
CO₂ emissions reduction: 2.39 tons/year
Myrza Mederbekov stated: “We believe that modern wastewater treatment solutions will accelerate the transition to a cleaner environment. Innovation and high performance will enable us to make a meaningful contribution to the development of the green economy. As a KyrSEFF client, we are confidently moving in this direction and highly recommend others take advantage of this financing opportunity.”
The KyrSEFF/GEFF program is supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
