Our client, 79-year-old Zhumadil Shamyraliev, told how he improved his two-story house in Bishkek with the help of KyrSEFF. The 120 sqm dwelling was built in the 90’s and was in urgent need of modernization as it was cold and energy inefficient. Zhumadil Shamyraliev and his family approached Kompanion Bank, where it was explained to them that it was possible to obtain a loan and subsequently a grant for the implementation of energy efficiency measures.
With the help of the loan, Zhumadil Shamyraliev replaced the old windows with five-chamber energy efficient windows, insulated the ceiling with 15 cm thick basalt and insulated the walls. All recommendations on insulation were given by KyrSEFF engineers. Thanks to these measures, Zhumadil Shamyraliev increased comfort and warmth in his home and reduced heating and electricity costs. He said that he started paying half as much for heating, previously it was 12,500 soms per month, now it is 6000-6500 soms.
Electricity saving is 33 MWh.
CO2 emissions saving – 20 tons per year.
