EBRD GEFF was Programme Partner of Build & Construction Fair organized for the 15th time in Skopje, from October 24-28.
Around 70 exhibitors from North Macedonia, Croatia, Bulgaria and Serbia presented their products and services related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, building and construction to more than 9.000 visitors.
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Green Energy Financing Facility (EBRD GEFF) supported this important event as Programme Partner with the aim of raising awareness on the importance and benefits of investments into energy efficiency in North Macedonia.
During a dedicated public forum on energy efficiency, Igor Panchevski, the GEFF Technical Expert for North Macedonia and Kosovo, presented the programme and informed households of the benefits of investing in energy efficient technologies through GEFF. Panchevski announced that over 450,000 EUR worth of investments have been verified within just a few months from the start of GEFF operations in North Macedonia. As many as 70 clients received incentives of 15% if they implemented one measure or 20% if they implemented two or more.
Information on the programme was provided by Ohridska Banka Société Générale, one of EBRD’s partners that provides financing under GEFF, who was also an exhibitor on the fair. In their presentation, Vedrana Veljanoska, senior product development of Ohridska, emphasized high interest of households in North Macedonia for EE investments through GEFF loans.
Technologies eligible for financing were promoted by seven vendors featured on the GEFF’s Technology Selector. Additionally, Vasil Ciconkov, Managing Director of Energija, main distributor for TOSHIBA CARREIR HAIER, presented the cost-benefits of investing into heat pumps.
More than 9,000 people visited Build & Construction Fair during the four-day fair. Visitors showed a lot of interest in the opportunities that the GEFF Programme offers.
The EBRD Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Western Balkans provides finance for green economy investments in the residential sector as well as to businesses who provide energy efficiency and renewable energy products and services to households. The total volume of the credit line in the Western Balkans, namely in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia and in Kosovo, is €85 Million.
GEFF in the Western Balkans is implemented under the Regional Energy Efficiency Programme for the Western Balkans (REEP Plus), funded by the European Union and realized in cooperation with the Energy Community Secretariat. The Technical Cooperation programme under the Facility is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance and the Western Balkan Investment Framework.
