There are various ways GEFF can help you identify the best solutions for a successful green economy project.

The GEFF Technology Selector is an online tool to help you identify the most suitable high-performing equipment and materials eligible for financing.

Some green investments are too complicated for the simple ‘pre-approved’ approach using the online Technology Selector. In these cases, the EBRD provides Assessment Services to help Participating Financial Institutions and their customers identify and ensure successful implementation of the best high quality green economy projects.

GEFF Assessment Services are provided by impartial experts competitively selected by the EBRD. Advice from these impartial experts supports investment decision-making. It also results in the Assessment Report which certifies that a positively assessed investment proposal is technically eligible for finance under GEFF. To request GEFF services, contact your preferred Participating Financial Institution or the GEFF team.

What is an Assessment?

GEFF sub-loans for pre-approved equipment and materials chosen from the Technology Selector do not require an Assessment. All other GEFF sub-loans require an Assessment to confirm that the investment proposal is technically eligible to be considered for GEFF Financing.

Assessment Reports are free of charge. They are prepared by the Facility Consultant contracted by the EBRD, thanks to funding provided by the supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Turkish Ministry of Finance and Treasury.

The content and level of complexity of an Assessment depends on the complexity of the investment proposal. It may be as simple as an independent confirmation that an apartment has an Energy Performance Certificate and meets the minimum performance standards set by GEFF. Or for complex investments it may be a detailed technical-economic report.
