Acquisition of Artis One system from Siemens Healthineers, a New-generation angiography system

As demand for advanced healthcare services continues to grow across Morocco, medical institutions are increasingly seeking ways to improve patient care while operating more efficiently and sustainably.

For Clinique Plaza, a multidisciplinary healthcare facility in Marrakech specializing in cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment, meeting growing patient needs required investing in cutting-edge medical technology. With a capacity of 53 beds and a broad range of medical and surgical specialties, the clinic plays a key role in delivering specialized healthcare services to the region.

To strengthen its cardiology services and improve treatment capabilities, Clinique Plaza decided to invest in a new-generation angiography system. Rather than opting for conventional technology, the clinic selected the Artis One system from Siemens Healthineers, an advanced solution designed to deliver high-quality imaging while significantly reducing energy consumption and radiation exposure.

Supported by the GEFF II programme and financed through Sogelease, the clinic invested approximately €382,000 in this state-of-the-art equipment.

The objective was clear: provide better cardiovascular care, improve diagnostic precision, increase patient throughput, and reduce environmental impact.

The results demonstrate how healthcare excellence and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Thanks to advanced CARE+CLEAR technology, the new system produces high-resolution images while significantly reducing radiation doses compared to conventional solutions. This allows physicians to perform complex cardiovascular examinations and interventions with greater confidence while enhancing patient safety.

The investment also enabled Clinique Plaza to expand its annual treatment capacity from 400 to 600 procedures, representing a 50% increase in service capacity and helping more patients access critical cardiac care.

Beyond its clinical benefits, the new angiography system delivers significant environmental gains. Compared to previous-generation equipment, it reduces electricity consumption by 45%, saving approximately 4.46 MWh of electricity each year and avoiding 2.55 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

The project also improves day-to-day operations through enhanced reliability, easier operation, quieter performance, and superior image quality that supports more accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Most importantly, the project illustrates how investments in modern healthcare infrastructure can simultaneously improve patient outcomes, strengthen operational performance, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Today, Clinique Plaza stands as an example of how innovative medical technologies can help healthcare providers deliver higher-quality care while supporting Morocco’s transition toward a greener and more resource-efficient economy.

Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Morocco is a green economy financing program, implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will provide financing to Moroccan private enterprises through local financial institution partners. Supported by the European Union (EU), the Green Climate Fund (GCF). It will enable local companies to invest in green technologies, reduce their costs through climate adaptation measures, energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.
