Achievements of Bulgaria Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line

As of the end of February 2014, in the framework of Bulgaria Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line (BEERECL) more than 290 energy efficiency and renewable energy projects were approved.

Combined energy savings expected to be generated by this portfolio over a projected lifetime of 20 years are equal to 7,027 GWh (enough to cover the residential electricity demand in Sofia).

Combined carbon emissions reduction of all these projects are expected to amount to 15.8 million tonnes of CO2 – equivalent to removing 3 million cars from the road for one year.

All this can be reached with just €151.6 million of investments.
