Reducing electrical energy consumption through energy efficient equipment

Roza Satpanbetova lives in the city of Taraz and carries on a butchery business in rented premises for over 10 years. Her regular customers are cafes and restaurants of the city. She heard about the possibility of purchasing energy efficient equipment under the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) programme from the EBRD and receiving an incentive in the amount of 10% of the equipment cost from her loan expert. Rosa became interested in this proposal, as it was long-stand need to upgrade the refrigeration equipment.

As a result, Rosa purchased a freezer from a Turkish producer to store meet and was very satisfied with this purchase. In her opinion, the equipment is efficient, reliable, and consumes less electricity comparing to the analogs of the lower classes, and also, it causes less damage to the environment.

The Microfinance organization (MFO) “KMF” loan conditions are convenient: short-term micro loan, an incentive in the amount of 10% of the loan amount. The (MFO) “KMF” loan expert provided effective support in finding the eligible equipment and correct application submission to get the compensation.

This project was supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance.
