Al-Tahrir Mills is looking to improve its competitiveness and reduce production costs through investing in new energy efficient packaging machines.
Al Tahrir Mills is one of three companies owned by Bayer and it specializes in pasta manufacturing. The company is ISO 9001, and ISO 22000 certified.
The company is planning to replace the existing packing machines with new efficient automatic packing machines that will improve energy efficiency, production cost efficiency and increase production capacity.
The GEFF team evaluated the packaging machine and confirmed that its performance was in line with the best available technologies internationally. In addition to assessing the economic viability of the installation, the GEFF team also provided an assessment of the potential environmental benefits associated with the investment.
The US$ 284,473 investment allowed the company to reduce 4,035 MWh per year of primary energy, which will help the company save production costs and increase its production capacity, thus, increasing its profitability and competitiveness.
The reduction of greenhouse gases associated with this investment is estimated 1,815 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, a valuable contribution to mitigating the negative impacts of climate change.
