TurSEFF loan is helping clean energy generation from an on-grid unlicensed ground mounted solar power plant (SPP) in Ankara province, with the solar panels selected from the Green Technology Selector (GTS).
Akyurt SPP was established in Ankara province and aims to invest in solar energy projects in Türkiye. The project includes multiple special purpose vehicles with Çetin Yatırım Enerji Anonim Şirketi as the project sponsor.
The project partners aimed to reduce dependence on fossil fuels by investing in unlicensed solar power plants to generate clean energy.
TurSEFF advised company about alternative and cost-effective ways to realize this investment. The team helped the company in using Green Technology Selector, and to select the optimum pre-approved equipment from the GTS.
The investment was implemented with €4,543,864 TurSEFF loan in 2019. The solar power plants are expected to generate 9,126 MWh of clean energy annually, reducing dependency on fossil fuels and providing long-term financial returns.
The investment is expected to help reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 3,477 tonnes per year, contributing significantly to climate change mitigation efforts.
Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
