Company meets its own electricity need from rooftop solar power plant

Akpinar Hayvancilik is a cattle-raising farm company in Türkiye, it invested in a 300 kW_el rooftop solar power plant to generate clean energy.

TurSEFF consultant advised company about the innovative ways of reducing its energy costs. The solar power plant investment will provide the electricity need of the building from a green energy source and the surplus electricity will be fed to the grid.

The company financed the investment by TurSEFF loan blended with our technical assistance. During the project implementation TurSEFF consultant performed the project analysis, assessed the potential of energy savings, financial-technical parameters, and risks of the investment.

The cost of the investment was €348,150 and the company used €213,529 loan from one of TurSEFF’s partner banks.  As a result of the investment the plant will generate 582 MWh of electricity per year. This green energy investment will contribute mitigation of climate change’s negative impacts.

The plant helps reduction of CO2 emissions up to 338 tonnes per year. This green energy investment will contribute mitigation of climate change’s negative impacts.

The Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to provide financing for Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Energy investments. European Union (EU) is supporting TurSEFF by providing finance to Technical Assistance.
