GEFF Türkiye loan is helping prefabricated building manufacturer’s transition to clean energy, with PV panels selected from Green Technology Selector (GTS).

As a women-led company, Con-Imex, a producer of modular and prefabricated building solutions, was established in Adana Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone. The company offers a diverse range of products developed using its own technology, including demountable and modular living containers, modular cabins, prefabricated steel buildings, and light steel frame structures.

Based in Adana, a province affected by the “February 2023 Earthquakes”, Con-Imex planned a rooftop solar PV (RSPV) investment project to meet its energy demand and reduce dependency on grid electricity. The company applied to GEFF Türkiye to access financing and technical assistance to realize this renewable energy investment.

GEFF Türkiye advised Con-Imex on cost-effective and efficient technology solutions. The GEFF team supported the company in using the Green Technology Selector to identify and select pre-approved solar equipment that best fits the project.

In 2023 with €402,057 in financing from GEFF Türkiye, Con-Imex installed a 600 kWp rooftop solar power plant. This investment is expected to generate 625 MWh of clean electricity per year, exceeding the company’s total annual energy demand and helping to reduce operational energy costs.

Furthermore, this project will reduce 245 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions per year, which helps Con-Imex’s commitment to more sustainable production.

The Green Economy Financing Facility in Türkiye (GEFF Türkiye) was developed by The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by Clean Technology Fund (CTF)Republic of Turkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF) and EBRD Shareholder Special Fund.
