TurSEFF loan is helping clean energy generation from a rooftop solar power plant (RSPV), with the solar panels selected from the Green Technology Selector (GTS).

Deniz Otomotiv, a textile company established in 1994, operates in Uşak and Tekirdağ, Türkiye. The company specializes in textile production and aims to invest into solar energy to reduce energy costs and contribute to a greener future.

The company decided to invest in a rooftop solar power plant that meets the electricity needs of its building to address increasing energy expenses and ensure sustainable production.

TurSEFF team advised company about alternative and economic ways to realize this investment. Team helped the company in using Green Technology Selector, and to select the optimum pre-approved equipment from the tool.

The investment was implemented with €626.726 TurSEFF financing in 2020, and the solar power plant is expected to generate 1,667 MWh of electricity annually. This is projected to significantly reduce the company’s energy costs and enhance its sustainability performance. The surplus electricity generated will be fed into the national grid, by net-metering system.

This green energy project is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 635 tonnes per year, supporting Türkiye’s climate goals and contributing to the mitigation of climate change.

Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
