The investment led to 25.4% energy savings, enhanced quality, and sustainability
DNM Textile, a leading denim manufacturer based in Damietta, Egypt, supplies high-quality products to some of the world’s top fashion brands. Since its founding in 2011, the company has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability, implementing Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems and adopting energy-efficient practices across its operations.
To offset rising energy costs and improve operational efficiency, DNM Textile invested in a state-of-the-art production line with support from GEFF Egypt. The new system not only enhances product quality but also boosts output by 95%, while significantly reducing electricity consumption.
With an investment of $4.22 million, the project achieved:
25.4% reduction in annual energy use (18,989 MWh saved)
Estimated 2,820 tCO₂ reduction per year
Payback period of less than one year, based on energy savings alone
Substantial improvement in product quality and productivity
This investment reinforces DNM Textile’s position as an industry leader in sustainable manufacturing and cost efficiency.
As part of the GEFF program, DNM received free technical support from GEFF consultants, who helped assess the project’s technical, financial, and environmental feasibility—confirming that the solution met the highest international standards.
GEFF Egypt was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by the European Union Neighbourhood Investment Platform.
