At Domty, production is up and energy consumption is down! Thanks to an efficient Tetra Pack line.
The Arabian Food Industries Co. (Domty), one of Egypt’s largest juice and dairy producers, has modernized its Giza production facility to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Established in 1990 with just two cheese products, Domty now exports to over 30 countries worldwide.
With support from GEFF Egypt, Domty replaced an outdated Tetra Pak filling line—which produced 5,500 packages/hour—with a modern, energy-efficient line capable of 8,000 packages/hour. The upgrade significantly enhanced production capacity while reducing electricity consumption.
Thanks to an investment of $836,827, Domty achieved:
25% reduction in primary energy consumption (90.3 MWh saved annually)
45% increase in production capacity
Reduction in electricity use from 5.99 to 4.46 kWh per tonne
18 tonnes/year of CO₂ emissions avoided
This investment not only strengthens Domty’s competitiveness through operational savings and higher output, but also contributes to the company’s sustainability goals by lowering its carbon footprint.
