New high-capacity injection moulding system boosts output and cuts energy use in Andijan.
Uz-Koram Kompani LLC, founded in 1995, is one of Uzbekistan’s largest plastic manufacturers, specializing in the production of automotive components such as bumpers, dashboards, and door linings. The company supplies body parts for models including the Tracker, Cobalt, Onix, Nexia 3, and Gentra, serving as a key partner to UzAuto Motors. Its annual capacity exceeds 230,000 fully painted body part sets for the domestic car industry.
To further improve efficiency and meet rising demand, Uz-Koram invested in replacing one of its largest plastic injection moulding machines with a more powerful, highly efficient model—the JU28000III from Haitian Huayuan (Singapore). This servo-hydraulic two-platen system combines the robustness of hydraulic presses with the precision and energy savings of servo motor technology. It operates only when needed, cutting idle energy use and heat generation, which reduces cooling needs and extends equipment lifespan. The system’s precision control over pressure, speed, and position ensures high product quality, while its clamping force of 28,000 kN makes it ideal for producing large, complex automotive parts.
With a GEFF II loan from Hamkorbank, the company installed four JU28000III units, boosting annual production capacity from 1,075 tonnes to 1,839 tonnes, while reducing specific energy consumption by 31% per unit of output. This results in annual savings of 115 MWh of electricity, equivalent to 1,479 GJ of primary energy, and a reduction of 61 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. In addition, the higher capacity and precision are expected to generate USD 650,000 in extra revenue each year through increased output.
The Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Uzbekistan was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by the Canada through the EBRD’s High- Impact Partnership on Climate Action – HIPCA, the Climate Investment Fund and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund.
