A high-efficiency yoghurt and labneh packaging line was installed at Milkolino, using state-of-the-art automated filling and sealing technologies.

Milkolino Products LLC, based in the Tashkent region, is a leading dairy producer offering milk, yogurt, and cheese. In 2023, the company reported revenues of UZS 70 billion, highlighting its strong market position. Dairy products like yogurt and labneh require precise temperature control, hygienic packaging, and consistent portioning to maintain freshness and food safety.

To meet rising demand and improve efficiency, Milkolino upgraded its yoghurt and labneh packaging lines with two advanced machines from Türkiye’s Ropak Otomasyon: the RPK-L-PM40 Automatic Linear Weigh Filling Packaging Machine for yogurt cups and the RPK-R-PM20 Rotary Pre-made Pouch Packaging Machine for labneh. These systems increase speed and consistency, reduce waste, and ensure hygienic sealing, while meeting international food safety standards.

Financed through a GEFF II loan from Ipoteka Bank, the investment boosted annual capacity from 10.6 million to 17.6 million units and cut specific energy consumption by 34%. Automation has lowered manual workloads, improved packaging appearance, and reduced operational costs.

These upgrades follow a global trend in dairy processing, where automation and energy-saving technologies improve productivity, reduce errors, and enhance product presentation. Modern packaging systems also lower spoilage rates through better monitoring and precision.

The Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Uzbekistan was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by the Canada through the EBRD’s High- Impact Partnership on Climate Action – HIPCA, the Climate Investment Fund and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (Project Donors).
