Innovative fleet upgrades delivering energy savings and long-term operational cost reductions.

Domus CJSC, a leading Armenian company in home renovation supplies, is modernising its logistics fleet by purchasing 10 SAIC MAXUS MILA 2 electric trucks. This move replaces their old fleet and supports their commitment to sustainability.

Founded in 1998, Domus produces mattresses and furniture while importing renovation supplies, operating 12 hypermarkets across Armenia. The company is a market leader, offering high-quality home improvement solutions both in-store and online.

Domus sought to reduce operational costs and embrace eco-friendly technologies. Transitioning to electric trucks aligns with their sustainability goals and efficiency improvements.

With a US$ 608,000 investment, Domus saves 65,728 litres of fuel and 677 MWh annually, cutting costs by US$ 93,800 per year. The project has a seven-year payback period and aligns with their sustainability goals. The switch to electric trucks reduces CO2 emissions by 137.3 tonnes annually, significantly lowering the environmental impact of their logistics operations.

Domus expressed satisfaction with the project’s alignment with their operational and sustainability objectives, emphasising its cost efficiency and environmental benefits.

This project was supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Climate Investment Funds (CIF).
