Kazakhstan company purchased energy-efficient special machinery for complex construction works

Kasymzhan Duisengaliyev is the director of a construction company LLP “KasProStroi” from the city of Uralsk. The company has been engaged in construction, including multi-apartment residential buildings for more than 5 years. Previously, the company was forced to rent specialized equipment for its work. This made the working process complicated and required significant investment. Therefore, Kasymzhan Duisengaliyev thought about purchasing the company’s own equipment. He did not have enough resources to finance the purchase on his own so he applied for a loan to the Microfinance organization “KMF”. The loan manager spoke about the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) Programme from the EBRD, which provides not only a loan for the purchase of energy-efficient equipment but also an incentive in the amount of 10% of the total cost. A suitable model of an excavator-forklift from a well-known American manufacturer was selected on the website of the Green Technology Selector. Having received a loan, the entrepreneur purchased eligible equipment, which allows for complex work but consumes fuel economically.

“I am very pleased that we were able to purchase modern energy-efficient equipment with the support of the loan from the MFO “KMF” and the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) Programme. We don’t need to rent construction vehicles from tenants anymore. Now we have our own excavator-forklift, which is always “at our fingertips”. This significantly accelerated the working process, and also has a positive effect on the environment. A nice bonus for our company was 10% of an incentive of the excavator’s cost,” says Kasymzhan Duisengaliyev, director of KasProStroi LLP

This project was supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance.
