The upgrade leads to larger output and energy savings

Agrosami is a producer and wholesaler of grain and seeds in Timis county, Romania. To decrease its energy consumption and increase the production capacity, the company decided to invest in new equipment.

The company addressed RoSEFF for financing. The RoSEFF team supported the company with analysis of the proposed technology, its potential for energy savings and profitability.

The project comprised the replacement of an inefficient diesel-powered grain treatment and sorting facility with an electricity powered unit with increased production capacity.

The €325,000 investment allowed the company to almost double its sorting and treatment capacity to 1,000 tons per year, while lowering its primary energy consumption by 96%, from 414 to 17 kWh per tonne of production.

This way, RoSEFF supports the sustainable financing and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects by the private sector. Together, the private, residential and public sectors can make a change in energy consumption patterns and environmental protection.

This project is supported by the European Union (EU).
