Street LED lighting helps save energy and protect nature
Gorsvet, a company registered in 2004 in the East Kazakhstan region, has been engaged in the sale and installation of street lighting for over 20 years. During this time, the company has successfully implemented numerous projects aimed at creating a safe and modern urban lighting system.
In 2025, aiming to expand its product range and transition to more energy-efficient solutions, the company decided to purchase modern LED streetlights. To avoid withdrawing working capital from its business, Gorsvet’s management turned to Bank CenterCredit for financing. Through the GEFF Green Economy Financing Facility from the EBRD, attractive loan terms were offered, and the company decided to take advantage of them.
The models acquired by Gorsvet met the programme’s minimum criteria and were therefore included in the Green Technology Selector. This significantly accelerated the process of obtaining loan funds for the purchase.
“The LED streetlights we are installing are gradually replacing outdated lamps. They consume less energy, last longer, and require less maintenance. This is not only economically beneficial for the city but also helps reduce environmental impact,” noted the Director of Gorsvet.
This project was supported by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF).
