Faster process, larger output and reduced energy costs thanks to the new tank
Acetica SRL is a Romanian vinegar producing company established in 1976 with the capacity of up to 25,000 hectolitres of vinegar per year.
The company decided to invest in energy efficient modernisation of the production line and addressed RoSEFF for financing. The RoSEFF team performed analysis of the project, its financial-technical parameters and profitability.
The final project comprised replacement of four old wooden tanks with a single large stainless steel tank for vinegar fermentation.
The €298,900 investment allowed the company to decrease its energy consumption by 73%, while doubling the production volume. The new equipment will also speed up the production period to 2-3 days instead of 7-8 days and reduce CO2 emissions by 1,135 tonnes per year. Finally, the investment significantly reduced costs and therefore enables the company to be more competitive at the market.
This way, the EBRD and RoSEFF support the sustainable financing and implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects by the private sector. Together, the private, residential and public sectors can make a change in energy consumption patterns and environmental protection.
This project is supported by the European Union (EU).
