After successful measures the company addresses for more energy efficiency investments

Ak-Kuu LLC is the largest poultry plant in Kyrgyz Republic. The production capacity is 440 000 laying hens and 100 million eggs per year. The plant was established in 1966, so naturally all of the production equipment became outdated.

Ak-Kuu applied to KyrSEFF for the loan and advisory package to improve the production process and reduce energy costs. The KyrSEFF team analysed the investment and environmental aspects to make sure Ak-Kuu complies with the environmental standards.

In 2014 the first measure was implemented – modernization of production workshops – leading to full automatic control of the production process and resulting in increased quantity and quality of production, as well as energy savings. After a successful repayment of the investment, the company addressed KyrSEFF for the second loan for the rest of the planned measures.

The energy savings enable Ak-Kuu to repay the investment in just 3 years. In addition, the company  significantlyreduced its CO2 emissions, making its input to mitigation of thenegative effects of the human activity on climate.

This project was supported by the Investment Facility for Central Asia (IFCA) of the European Union (EU).
