Energy efficient technologies help reduce costs and increase comfort
Khaled Alrajhi Holding Company, established in 1995 in Saudi Arabia, decided to expand its borders of operation and build a design hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The future 4-star hotel will have a total of 6 floors (2 underground and 4 above ground), with 80 rooms, restaurants, conference hall and swimming pool.
Considering local laws on energy efficient buildings, the company decided to use materials and technologies available on the Georgian market that would help them comply with local requirements, reduce costs and create a comfortable stay for their guests.
Upon applying for a GEFF credit line, the Khaled Alrajhi Holding Company received a free assessment of the project by the GEFF experts. The financial and technical analysis of the project revealed that implementation of energy efficient windows and doors, heating and cooling systems, LED lighting and elevators would help the company reduce the heat losses through the building fabric, cut electricity and natural gas costs, and reduce the negative impact of the building on the environment.
Company’s investment in energy efficient technologies will help them annually save up to US$ 20,000. Once built, the hotel will not only offer a unique design and an experience to remember, but pride itself in being an energy efficient established that fully complies with local regulations.
The project is supported by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF).
