Expansion of electric motor repair operations in support of the circular economy

Electromechanical Motor Production LLP, founded in 2012 in the Almaty region, promotes the principles of the circular economy by extending the lifespan of electric motors and reducing the need for new resources.

The company specializes in the repair of electric machines for various industrial and transport applications, including traction motors for electric and diesel locomotives. Over the years, the company has strengthened its position in the market and continues to grow steadily.

In 2025, due to the increase in customer orders, the company decided to expand its production capacity by building a second electric motor repair workshop—twice the size of the existing one. To implement this project, the company turned to Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan for financing. Through the EBRD’s Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) the company was offered attractive financing conditions and decided to take advantage of this opportunity.

The funds were used to construct a new facility featuring energy-efficient technologies, including modern insulation materials, LED lighting, and high-efficiency heating and ventilation systems, all registered in the Green Technology Selector.

The project improves working conditions for employees, ensures significant energy savings, and reduces environmental impact. It also serves as a strong example of sustainable and resource-efficient production in Kazakhstan.
