Froneri invests in introducing a new energy efficient production line for extruded ice cream stick leading to an overall improvement in energy consumption and production process.
FRONERI is a global producer of ice cream, frozen food, and chilled dairy products. It is a joint venture brand between Nestle and R&R, operating in more than 20 countries worldwide. In Egypt, their production facility is located in the “Giza” Governorate.
Froneri is looking into improving its overall energy and production efficiency. By introducing new efficient production lines to the production process, the company would save on energy cost and increase its production capacity.
The GEFF team conducted the technical eligibility assessment through several site visits and working with the sub-borrower and the participating financial institution teams to provide technical advise when needed.
The USD 5,000,000 investment allowed the company to reduce the energy consumption by 23 %. This will help the company save on its energy bill.
The new production line led to a reduction of the CO2 emissions by 136 tonnes per year, making a valuable input towards mitigation of negative effect of human activities on climate.
