Higher performance and productivity with modern processing equipment
Dusmurot Bakshev was born into a farming family in the village of Dokki, Istiqlol Jamoat, in the Kubodiyon district. From a young age, he was accustomed to hard work and responsibility, helping his father with freight transportation. After completing secondary school and obtaining his driver’s license, he began working in logistics while also managing a small family farm.
In 2021, the Bakshev family first learned about the opportunities offered by the microfinance institution “Humo.” Initially, Dusmurot’s brother took out a loan to develop their farm. Inspired by the benefits of financial support and the impact of having the right equipment, Dusmurot decided to apply for a loan himself to purchase specialized agricultural machinery.
In November 2024, with the support of the GEFF II program, he received a loan of 200,000 somoni to purchase a motor-cultivator (mehlopata). This equipment became a vital tool in mechanizing his operations—making land cultivation, channel clearing, and planting tasks significantly easier. In addition to crop farming, Dusmurot is also expanding into livestock farming, strengthening the resilience of his agricultural business.
“Before, everything was done by hand—digging trenches, plowing the land. Now, with machinery, everything is faster and easier. You get less tired and achieve more,” he shares.
Thanks to the green technology, labor intensity has decreased, productivity has improved, and the family’s income has become more stable. Dusmurot actively provides transportation services to local villagers while continuing to grow his business. He expresses his sincere gratitude to “Humo” for their support and plans to continue developing by applying modern agricultural practices.
Dusmurot’s story is one of an enterprising individual who wasn’t afraid to take a step forward—and in doing so, discovered a sustainable path to growth.
