GEFF has supported Delta ElNile in replacing an old plastic moulding machine with a new energy efficient one that helped the company reduce its electricity consumption and improve its productivity.
Established in 1997, Delta Elnile is specialized in supplying high-quality PET performs, PET bottles and closures that serve the Egyptian and international Beverage markets. The company owns a large market share in Egypt, and is a major supplier of many multinational companies, including PepsiCo, Nestle, and Coca-Cola.
Delta ElNile was looking for solutions to help decrease its expenditure on electricity. The company decided to replace an old plastic moulding machine with a new energy efficient one, that also helped improve the production process.
The GEFF team provided technical support throughout the project, conducting site visits to help assess the different technical and financial aspects of it.
The USD 2,315,000 investment allowed the company to reduce the energy consumption by 28 %. This will help the company save on production costs.
The new installed machinery led to a reduction of the CO2 emissions by 138 tonnes per year, making a valuable input towards mitigation of negative effect of human activities on climate.
GEFF Egypt was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by the European Union Neighbourhood Investment Facility.
