Forklift replacement led to increased production capacity and 50% lower energy consumption
Established in 2000, the company is one of the leading steel distributors in Poland supplying over 1500 products from its central warehouse with a total area of 10,000 square meters.
To reduce energy consumption and improve the process, the company decided to replace its old forklift truck from 2000. In addition, the old forklift truck did not meet the EU regulations on emissions level.
The company addressed PolSEFF for financing of this measure. The PolSEFF team performed analysis of the proposed technology, its potential for energy savings and profitability.
The €36,500 investment allowed the company to increase the production capacity and reduce its energy consumption by 52 per cent, which is nearly €2,000 per year. The energy savings can be seen as additional income continuing for years.
This project demonstrates that replacement of standard vehicles generates energy savings in addition to other benefits. Therefore, it is worth checking the energy saving potential of such measures.
The project was supported by the European Union (EU).
