TurSEFF loan is helping agricultural sector in Türkiye transition to low emission vehicles, with the equipment selected from Green Technology Selector (GTS).
İşbank, established in 1924 in the early years of the Republic of Türkiye, is one of the largest and oldest banks in the country. As one of TurSEFF’s participating financial institutions, the bank has played a pivotal role in financing sustainable investments.
İşbank aimed to launch a dedicated campaign to support the transition to more environmentally friendly agricultural vehicles by offering accessible green finance solutions for farmers and rural clients. The campaign focused on financing low-emission tractors as part of Türkiye’s broader green energy and sustainability goals.
In 2024, TurSEFF provided €15,136,794 finance, enabling İşbank to design and execute the “Sustainable Agriculture Finance” campaign. The campaign targeted low-emission Massey Ferguson tractors and other pre-approved tractor brands listed in the Green Technology Selector (GTS).
With the support of TurSEFF, İşbank successfully financed the purchase of 233 low-emission tractors across the country. This helped modernize agricultural practices, improve fuel efficiency, and support the rural economy with more sustainable tools.
The financed tractors are expected to reduce carbon emissions by 6,711 tonnes per year, contributing to climate change mitigation and improved air quality in rural areas.
Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is co-funded by the European Union (EU), the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance (MoTF), and supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR).
