A new blister packaging machine MB421 from the brand “Marchesini” replacing the older obsolete packaging machine

IBERMA, is a Moroccan SME belonging to the pharmaceutical value chain established in Morocco since 1993. The pharmaceutical laboratory IBERMA has not ceased to evolve, thanks to the extension of its product range and the constant improvement of its industrial and commercial competence.

Within the framework of the rehabilitation and modernization of its production equipment as well as the optimization of its resources, IBERMA decided to invest in a blister packaging machine (primary packaging) of the brand Marchesini MB 421 which will replace an old and obsolete machine dating from 1993.

This machine is fully automatic, compact and flexible, suitable for small and medium-sized production batches and fully compliant with international safety standards. It also performs single-dose primary packaging of tablets in PVC blister packs. The new machine also increases blister production by 3.9 million blisters per year, which means an increase in total blister production of almost 40%.

Thanks to this investment, IBERMA’s value chain is improved, and the plant operates with less energy (56.7%) and avoids 25.9 TeqCO2 per year.

Green Value Chain (GVC) in Morocco is an EBRD credit line that provides financing to local partner financial institutions for the financing of green investments by SMEs operating in value chains. Supported by the European Union, the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the Korea Technical Assistance and Cooperation Account (KTACA) and the EBRD’s Special Shareholders Fund, the facility helps improve the competitiveness of SMEs and their value chains through highly efficient green investments.
