New cutting edge paper bag manufacturing machine

Created in 2016, TECPAP is a Moroccan company specializing in the production of cardboard and paper packaging. With a historical knowledge of the market, TECPAP’s production unit is located in the industrial zone of Bouskoura.

To improve productivity and reduce energy consumption, TECPAP has decided to modernize its equipment by acquiring a new high performance paper bag manufacturing machine, in order to replace an old inefficient one and thus achieve significant savings in terms of electricity and increased production. The electrical consumption of the new machine is only 87 kVA with a production rate of 9 000 bags/h, while the old machine consumes 150 kVA for a production rate of 8 125 bags/h. In addition, the new machine significantly reduced the production of waste. In fact, this machine generates only 3.5% of waste while the old machine generates more than 8% of waste.

This investment enabled the company to further improve its productivity and competitiveness, thanks to a reduction of energy consumption estimated at 237,461 kWh/year (an energy saving of 48% compared to the old machine). which represents a GHG reduction of 135.83 teq CO2eq/year.

Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Morocco is a green economy financing program, implemented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), will provide financing to Moroccan private enterprises through local financial institution partners. Supported by the European Union (EU), the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
