New energy efficient gas boiler for private house of the rural school teacher in Maulembay village

A rural school teacher from the village of Maulembay, Koksu district, Almaty region, has been living with her family in a private house for over 7 years. There was no gas in the village and all this time the house was heated with coal. Since the furnace gas and smoke come from the combustion of coal, it was hard to breathe in the house. Small children were constantly coughing. This year, the gasification of the village was completed, and the teacher decided to install a modern gas boiler to heat the house and water. She applied to the Microfinance organization (MFO) “KMF”, since she has been their customer for more than a year. The loan manager advised to select a suitable model of a gas boiler on the Green Technology Selector website. When purchasing any equipment registered on this website, the buyer becomes a participant of the  Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) programme from the EBRD and can obtain an incentive in the amount of 10% of the main equipment cost including associated costs for the delivery and installation. The teacher selected the best suited to her needs model of an energy efficient gas boiler from the Korean manufacturer and purchased it with the loan funds provided by the MFO “KMF”.

“It took only a couple of days to prepare documents for receiving the incentive. It turned out not to be difficult at all. After submitting the application and successful verification of the documents, within a week, I was approved for the payment of incentives in the amount of 10% of the gas boiler cost and associated costs for its installation. I received the money to my settlement account in less than a month. Currently, I would like to buy a new air conditioner for the summer under the GEFF program.”
