The purchase of a new energy-efficient refrigerator increases sales and competitiveness

A small coffee shop, owned by a resident of the village of Korday, is located on the main street. There are always a lot of visitors and the product range is extending constantly . To ensure a good storage conditions of the products, another refrigerator was needed. The owner decided to purchase high-quality energy-saving equipment that would serve for a long time. Since the entire amount of money for the required purchase was not available, the businesswoman applied for a loan to the Microfinance organization (MFO) “KMF”. The loan expert advised to purchase an energy-efficient refrigerator under the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) Programme from the EBRD. Under the terms of this Programme, when purchasing the eligible equipment from the Green Technology Selector for the credit funds, it is possible to receive an incentive in the amount of 10% of the total purchase price, including costs of delivery, and installation. The loan expert from MFO “KMF” helped to choose an eligible model of a well-known Turkish manufacturer. Currently, the entrepreneur is confident in the proper storage conditions for storing goods. In addition, the visitors are always offered fresh and tasty products.

“This is not the first refrigerator I buy for a coffee shop, but after learning about the green financing program, I was able to purchase a more modern and energy-efficient model. I would not have been able to buy it without a loan from the MFO “KMF” and GEFF Programme. I think I will apply to this Programme again and advise everyone to join it,” the entrepreneur said.

This project was supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance.
