New irrigation system for a young entrepreneur from Pavlodar region

A young entrepreneur from Pavlodar region decided to engage in potato cultivation. Since her numerous relatives are also involved in this business, they advised her to purchase a drip irrigation system. With the help of this irrigation technology, dissolved fertilizers are delivered precisely to the root zone along with watering, contributing to the production of higher-quality crops.

She was already aware of the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) from the EBRD, which supports business modernization through energy-efficient and resource-efficient technologies, so she decided to take advantage of it. The entrepreneur approached a Program consultant who offered a financial solution for purchasing a new drip irrigation system. On the Green Technology Selector website, the entrepreneur chose the most suitable irrigation system or herself.

“Through the GEFF Program, I obtained a drip irrigation system using credit funds, ensuring intensive and rapid delivery of nutrients to the soil. I also wanted to avoid wetting the plant leaves, as in traditional irrigation. It significantly reduces the risk of disease spread and prevents the protective layer from being washed off. I hope for a successful harvest,” – the entrepreneur said.
