Acquisition of four high-performance refrigeration units and ten semi-trailers for refrigeration
Trans Afriquia Group is a Moroccan SME established in 2020 that specializes in international road transport of goods, particularly refrigerated transport of fruits and vegetables to Europe and England. The company has a fleet consisting of 8 refrigerated road units, including two semi-trailers that are over 9 years old.
Trans Afrquia Group places paramount importance on its fleet, ensuring that all its vehicles meet efficiency and sustainability standards. The diesel consumption of transport trucks constitutes the main identified energy consumption category, with a portion dedicated to powering the refrigeration units used for generating cold. The refrigeration units currently present on the semi-trailers operate independently, except for their diesel engine.
The company has decided to acquire four new three-axle refrigerated semi-trailers, each equipped with refrigeration units from the Thermo King SLXI 300-50 brand. These new semi-trailers will feature insulated boxes specifically designed for storing the goods to be transported. The refrigeration units, responsible for maintaining a low temperature, have been installed on the exterior walls of the insulated boxes.
The acquired refrigeration units are from the Thermo King brand. They are a model designed for complete telematic integration, equipping each unit with the TK BlueBox communication system.
The implementation of this project, has enabled the company to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 7.8 tons of CO2 equivalent per year and to save approximately 2,406 liters of diesel, corresponding to a 45% reduction each year.
