Thanks to modern milling technology and solar power investment, Fayz-M Halal Flour and Oil is improving production efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and contributing to a more sustainable food industry in Uzbekistan.
LLC “Fayz-M Halal Flour and Oil” was established in 2021 as part of the Fayz-M company in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region. The company is dedicated to producing high-quality flour products for the local market. In 2020, Fayz-M launched its wheat production clusters, ensuring a reliable supply of raw materials to produce premium flour.
To expand production and improve energy efficiency, Fayz-M Halal Flour and Oil sought financial support through the GEFF programme. Due to limited internal funds, the company secured a loan to purchase advanced milling equipment, enabling it to process and supply 50 tonnes of high-quality flour daily to the local market.
In addition to modernizing its milling operations, the company also prioritized renewable energy solutions. With the second GEFF loan, Fayz-M Halal Flour and Oil invested in solar panels with a total capacity of 900 kW.
Both investments significantly reduced electricity consumption from the grid, leading to a 20% decrease in energy use and cutting CO₂ emissions by 100 tonnes per year.
By integrating modern milling technology and renewable energy solutions, Fayz-M Halal Flour and Oil is strengthening its position in Uzbekistan’s food production industry, reducing its environmental footprint, and contributing to a more sustainable and energy-efficient economy.
The Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) in Uzbekistan was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and is supported by the EBRD’s Shareholder Special Fund, the Taiwan Business – EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund, and the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Austria.
