A Harvesting Machine Replacement Project in Konya Province

TurSEFF loan is helping reduction fuel(diesel) consumption by replacing the old sugar-beet harvesting machine with a new one in 2021.

Mehmet Keskin who is a farmer in Konya purchased a sugar-beet harvesting machine to replace the old harvesting machine.

TurSEFF consultant advised company about the innovative ways of reducing its energy costs. By this investment, the proposed energy savings is gained by the purchase of new technology low emission harvesters.

Company financed the investment by TurSEFF loan blended with technical assistance. During the project implementation TurSEFF consultant performed the project analysis, assessed the potential of energy(fuel) savings, financial-technical parameters, and risks of the investment.

The company used € 374,400 TurSEFF loan from a partner financial institution. As a result of the investment, the harvester machine replacement will provide 11 toe/year fuel (diesel) saving. This green energy investment will contribute mitigation of climate change’s negative impacts.

The project helps reduction of the CO₂ emissions up to 28 tonnes per year.

The Türkiye Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TurSEFF) was developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to provide financing for Resource Efficiency and Sustainable Energy investments. European Union (EU) and Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance are supporting TurSEFF by providing finance to Technical Assistance.
